My car was keyed. Can I get the shiny - glossy finish back?


I used rubbing compound, the scratch is gone, but the clear coat is obviously not the same.

If I do one pass with a UV clear-coat, will it stick out a lot worse?

All you can do is disguise a scratch. I just touch mine up with touch up paint. Any kind of rubbing compound will take off the clear coat making it worse looking than before, especially black paint which shows everything. I would take it in and get it professionally done. Nothing you can do will make it look perfect.
