Do Blue-jays make another call besides the obnoxious familiar shriek?
I always hear this weird bird sound that kind of sounds like a very squeaky rusty wheel turning slowly. And the only birds around i see are blue-jays but i never actually see them making the sound. It sounds nothing whatsoever like the usual annoying blue-jay scream.
They can make other vocalizations..but never thought of them as sounding like a rusty wheel. Listen here:
