The vending industry and the local economy
September 29th, 2009 | by real |Wow, it’s been really amazing to watch the economic news lately! I am stunnedat how quickly things can turn around and big businesses can go bankrupt. This is one of the main reasons why I am so glad I started my own gumball machine small business. This is something I can easily do after work or on the weekends and can make some quick cash. I started out with just a few toy capsules and gumball machines in a few locations and am now starting to expand and place a few drink and snack machines.
The best part is that there are low start up costs and if you pick a good location you can start making money instantly. Yes you have to sell a lot of gumballs to start making some real money but gumballs don’t cost that much and can be easily replaced, restocked and transported. So far the hardest thing has been counting all of the quarters and hauling them off to the bank. The capsule machines have fun little toys and stickers that sell for 50 cents or a $1 and those make a little more money and so far have sold quickly. The cool thing is these little items don’t cost that much and everyone gives their little ones their spare loose money found in their pockets and these children get bored at the dry cleaners and put their money in your vending machines. So it’s not like people can’t afford these little items and the gumballs or toys to keep their kids happy so everyone is a winner and I am creating some extra cash with my gumball vending machine locations!
